Meet the Therapist
Welcome! I am Dr. Bren Ohta and offer therapy in California and Arizona. As an academically trained researcher, I integrate the most current scientific findings with established practices to support clients in their treatment plan. As a former healthcare administrator, I uniquely understand the health and mental health care arena. As a psychotherapist/yoga therapist, I have worked directly with clients for many years. As your therapist, I will partner with you on your healing journey to help you define and meet your goals for greater peace and wellness in body, mind, and spirit.
My passion to support clients who are challenged by serious illness, injury, cancer, neurological diagnoses, and trauma stems from my personal history with serious medical illness and my own journey of healing. I learned that this path is not an easy or straight one, but it does exist. I am inspired daily by those with whom I work and would be honored to walk with you on your path to healing and growth.
For adult clients coping with cancer, serious illness, and trauma, as well as issues related to caregiving, grief, age-related changes, stress, self-esteem, and adjustment or emotional concerns due to life’s daily encounters, I encourage you to reach out to see if working together might be an option for you. I also support clients seeking to improve an already healthy lifestyle in order to gain more strength, vitality, and balance.
Through methods such as traditional psychotherapy, behavioral change approaches, skills development, trauma-focused therapy, somatic, and yoga therapy, we will craft an individualized plan to assess and help address your specific needs. Together we will find strategies that work best for you.
